Arrecife Airport, LanzaroteLanzarote Airport is located in one of the main towns on the island, Arrecife, and handles all the flights into the island. The main changeover day in Lanzaorte is Thursday and as a result the airport can become busy on this day. Arrecife Airport has an official website that offers real time flight information, so you can keep a check on the progress of flights in and out of the airport's two two terminals. All International flights now arrive and depart from Terminal One, with internal flights going from Terminal Two.

So, you arrive at the airport for your flight and think; "what is there to do while I am here?". Well the airport offers numerous facilities of the standard expected of an international airport. There are a number of cafes, restaurants and fast-food outlets and a range of shops ranging from the usual newsagents to a jewellery shop. There are also a number of ATM machines within the airport, to enable you to get any last minute cash.

Lanzarote airport is geared for disabled passengers, with facilities including ramps, wheelchair accessible doors and toilets. The airport also has special drop-off points at the arrival and departure halls, where disabled passengers can be dropped-off or collected. A number of car parking spaces are also available for disabled passengers.

If you need to find out any information while at the aiport there is an information desk located in departures. Keep an eye out for the staff who work in the airport, they will be wearing green jackets.

One question many people as on arrival to the island and on departure is, how do I get to the airport? Well there are always numerous taxis around, especially on the main changeover day of Thursday.

With the taxi rank located just outside the arrivals hall on the ground floor you should have no problem getting a taxi to take you to the apartment. The cost of a taxi to Costa Teguise should be around € 12 euros.

You can also hire a car for the time you are on the island, some say this is the best way to see the sights of the island.
